A journey with Sul:three

Sul:three is all about bags. Gorgeous bags that draw attention. Gorgeous bags that have you hooked. Gorgeous bags that are uniquely unique. Every bag is a masterpiece combination of the ethnic world and the sophistication of the fashion world.

I can't recall how many times it's been that when I walked with Lola or Nisha, I would be stopped by a random stranger enquiring where did I get my bags. My fave regulars for Lola has been:

"OMG...where did you get that bagggggggggg? I want!!!"

Sul:three is a brainchild of 3 gorgeous ladies: a former model, a piano teacher and a jet setter businesswoman. Last Saturday, Sul:three had a preview of its range at Fit for Two. Here's some of the gorgeous bags. And there's always a Sul:three for every occassion!

Now, if you're itching to lay your hands on a Sul:three, check out their website www.sulthree.com

Alternatively, Sul:three bags are also available at:
• Maizen @ 112 Jalan Maarof, Bangsar Baru
• Qvinn @ 24 First Floor, Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru
• Baci @ 12A First Floor, Jalan Telawi 3, Bangsar Baru

Passport under 50 minutes!

Its a fair bit of travelling for 2011. And I've decided that I might as well renew my passport ahead of its expiry date for my visa applications etc. I was half anticipating that I would have to wait for at least half a day and face some grouchy crowd.

Surprisingly, it was a breeze. It took me exactly 60 minutes from the time:
• I parked my car
• Purchased my parking ticket
• Took mug shot
• Photocopied my identity card
• Filled up the form
• Grabbed my waiting number which can only be done once you have all your documents in place
• Submitted my documents
• Paid for my 5 years passport RM300
• Collected my passport
• Back to my car

Thanx Chin Ann for sharing with me the location of this immigration office.

50 minutes for the entire very relaxing experience I got myself a waiting number as shown in the following pic (highlighted in blue). And its barely 25 minutes from the time that I paid for the passport (highlighted in green). This is a far cry from my half day experience the last time.
I did it here:
Pejabat Imigresen Wilayah Persekutuan
Cawangan Wangsa Maju
Aras 1 Wisma Rampai
53300 Kuala Lumpur
Tel: 03-4142 3449
Fax: 03-4142 3578

Here's the map:

The Google Map is kind of outdated. You should be looking out for an Esso petrol kiosk.

And they are opened daily:
Monday to Friday ~ 8am to 5pm
Saturday and Sunday ~ 8am to 1pm

Btw:
(1) the wait for the production of your passport is officially under an hour from the moment you make your payment. Its written at the payment counter.
(2) if you're lazy to fill up your form, a fee of RM12 includes 4 photos, a photocopy of your identity card and filling up of the form (I went to the 2nd shop which is 2 doors away from the National Registration Department). The other shop next to the National Registration Department quote RM10 for 2 photos, a photocopy of your identity card and filling up of the form

A Dog's Ten Commandments

Animal Welfare Association Malaysia: A Dog's Ten Commandments:

"A Dog's Ten Commandments by Stan Rawlinson

1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years.
Any separation from you is likely to be painful. Remember that before you buy me.

It would be ideal if this 10-15 year consideration came into play when adding a dog to the family is first contemplated. Far too many prospective dog owners are "in the moment" when they get Fido and once cute puppyhood is past and Fido is a grown dog the romance is over and Fido becomes a burden and a chore.

Too many times a dog is left in a fenced back yard (or tied) and only gets attention at feeding time – if someone remembers to feed him/her at all.

How many pet ads do we see that say:

"cute dog – one year old – don’t have enough time to spend with him/her – re-homing free?"

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me, don't be impatient, short-tempered, or irritable.

Dogs will want to please you and do what you want if you’ve taken the time to help them understand. If you tell Fido to lay down once ever six months he’s more than likely not going to comply. If you’ve not properly house trained the process is not going to come to him in a flash of light.

3. Place your trust in me and I will always trust you back. Respect is earned not given as an inalienable right.

That one’s self-explanatory; if one doesn’t establish a loving, trusting relationship with Fido he’ll never be socialized and pleasant to be around. Loved and trusted dogs want to please their owners.

4. Don’t be angry with me for long and don’t lock me up as punishment. I am not capable of understanding why? I only know I have been rejected, you have your work, entertainment and friends - I only have you.

You are the supreme being in your dog’s life and his/her life revolves around you and your presence. Fido is totally dependent on you and locking him/her up doesn’t solve anything but makes a nervous, anxious, frantic dog. A fenced yard is one thing but locking a dog up in a bathroom for hours is mistreatment in any language.

5. Talk to me sometimes, even if I don’t understand your words, I understand your voice and your tone - "you only have to look at my tail."

Dogs respond to their human’s tone of voice and react accordingly. If you scream and yell at a dog all the time he/she soon becomes immune to the unkindness and ignores it to survive. If, instead, your voice reflects love and direction a dog will make every effort to figure out what you want.

6. Be aware that however you treat me; I will never forget it and if it's cruel it may affect me forever.

Harsh and unkind treatment does not work with dogs. Although they may not understand they remember and will avoid those persons that are mean and hurt them.

7. Please don't hit me. I can't hit back but I can bite and scratch and I really don't ever want to do that.

An undisciplined dog is a pleasure to no one. Hitting and striking a dog does not train; it irritates, confuses and creates both fear and anger. Educate yourself on the training and care of dogs before you own one.

8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, obstinate or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I’m not getting the right foods, or I've been out in the sun too long or my heart might be getting old or weak. I may be just dog tired.

Be attuned to what’s going on with your dog. If he/she suddenly slows down, is lethargic, inattentive or cross it’s highly likely there’s a reason and it could be health related. Never assume a suddenly grumpy dog has just had a personality change – check it out.

9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You, too, will grow old and may also need love, care, comfort and attention.

Pay particular attention to what’s going on with older dogs. Often their eyesight begins to fail, they become incontinent, joints become painful and thought processes aren’t as quick. Be considerate – your dog will go as far as he/she can for you and you should do the same.

10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say: "I can't bear to watch" or "let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember, irrespective of what you do I will always love you.

This is the hardest thing dog owners will ever face. They have to make the final decision and it’s inevitable with extreme illness or beyond functioning old age."

Geláre at e@curve

I love ice cream. Most people love ice cream. So what's the ultimate ice cream?

At Geláre, ice cream is rich, full flavoured and guarantees a smile on your face. And to have it with waffles and pancakes, life only gets better. Geláre in Italian means "to freeze". For many ice cream lovers, Geláre is indeed the "Ultimate Ice Cream". Its rich, creamy, smooth and intensely flavoured. What else can one ask for?

Geláre at e@curve is a must visit. Enjoy ice cream on freshly made pancakes and waffles. It is so heavenly that my mouth is watering even as I write.

I am fussy pot when it comes to waffles. It must be crispy on the outside and so rich fluffy inside. And here at Geláre at e@curve, this is how their waffles are made. Plain waffles are RM11.90. Waffles with a scoop of ice cream is RM17.90 and 2 scoops for RM21.90. Sounds expensive? When you taste it, its worth every cent!

Crispy on the outside and fluffy soft on the inside. Yummy!

My fave Jamaican Chocolate

Here's a whole list of ice cream flavours to choose from:
• Banana • Blueberry Cheesecake • Cappuccino • Caramel Fudge Brownie • Chocolate Overload • Cookie Dough • Jamaican Chocolate • Mocha Chip • Oregon Hazelnut • Oregon Mint Fudge • Rum and Raisin • Strawberry • Swiss Chocolate Caramel • Vanilla Bean • White Chocolate Raspberry

Ice cream being too sinfully rich? Fret not! There's the option of having the Raspberry and Mango sorbet too.

You can opt for pancakes to if you like a lighter bite. Here's some...opt it with strawberry, blackberry, bananas or even have it plain with some cream and maple syrup. Heavenly...

And in case you do not have a sweet tooth, you can still accompany your loved one or pals here for a meal. Check out their offerings of sandwiches, muffins, scones, pies and cheesecakes.

There's also an assortment of fruit juices and fruit smoothies for the health buffs. A must try is also their gourmet coffee which is such a great option after the sinfully rich ice creams and waffles.

So what are you waiting for? Head down to Geláre real quick!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day.

But as far as I am concerned, its Valentine's Day everyday. That is how life is supposed to be celebrated. Love like there is no tomorrow. Live like there is no tomorrow.

I don't discount its nice to be pampered on this day. But to have to pay some elaborate price seems a bit far fetched for me:P I do remember a pal who bought roses a week ahead and kept them in his fridge till it was time to deliver to his love (now his wifey). And on one particular year when they were still students, he spent a few nights making 101 red ribbon roses for her. Sweet max if you ask me.

No idea about what we're gonna do on today's Valentine's Day - the official day. But it'll be dinner together (as usual). Will it be somewhere posh or special? Dunnolah. We'll go with the flow. Although I am seriously craving some hokkien mee action in Lian Bee (somewhere in an alley in Kuala Lumpur). And Geláre waffles and ice cream for dessert? LOL...we'll seelah.

Monsoon galore at Ruby's Resort (again)

Spent my new year countdown at Ruby's Resort at Cherating. It was monsoon. Yeah monsoon with rain, winds and grey skies. Still it wasn't a deterrent to us. We had our fun in the rain and the sun came up when we departed:P And this is actually my second time in Cherating during the monsoon.

I supposed being at Ruby's Resort, rain or shine, Aunty Ruby ensures that we have fun. The place itself is fun enough. And couple with buddies like Carlee, Jo and Lilian, the place was hilariously fun. Rain or shine, we had our fun. We walked a little in the rain. What choice had we? Our furkids needed to do their "business".

Oh...check out the cute lazy cats at Ruby's Resort.
As with any trips we had, we surely had our food escapades. Here's some pics. Will elaborate more in another post(s). But one thing for sure, this trip we discovered that Cherating and Kemaman has a fair selection of pork. Not kidding! Its largely a Muslim area but yes there is pork.

New Year's eve was different from the rest. It was raining. And having steamboat on a rainy night is certainly super duper fun. Here's some shot of our folks cooking. Hehehe a simple egg takes skills.

And the "funnest" was the playing UNO. A good fun game that most of us played. But because most of us had not played it for ages, it became hilarious that we were showing our cards to each other while we figured out the rules of the game. UNO...I'm so hooked on it. I can't wait to play it again. Hmmmm must organise an UNO Session soon.

Midnight came...its 2011! Yippee we welcomed the new year together with some of my dearest friends. Bliss!

We departed on 1st January. After 2 days of gray skies, the sun finally came out. The winds were still there but the sea was nicely calm. Jo and I dashed out in our bikinis. We needed the sun. I needed the sun so so so much. And Shalom wanted her walk on the beach (and soak in the sea - that water baby needed no encouragement to dash into the water).

And we as usual went out to gather shells:D
B and Shalom are both old girls - 9 and 8 years old respectively. But check them out when they chased each other at the beach. Amazingly almost like young puppies:P
It was crazy fun. So much so I've booked my stay for April and August (again). This 2 periods are when the skies and sea are beautifully blue...
