Animal cruelty: STOP IT!!!

Its crazy! Its insane! What were these people thinking when they did what they did? Its inhumane and how could a human even do it? To inflict such pain is just not human. These are inhumane idiots.

Do visit Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) to know more of their efforts with rescues. And please support them in anyway you can. Its much appreciated:)

MORONS!!!!!

We were troubled to see the picture of two morons with a hanged puppy. But we are not surprised. Last week someone we know asked us for help. Apparently a puppy hanging from a rope was tied outside his friend's pet shop. Luckily, the puppy survived. We told them to allow the puppy to get over its ordeal before being vaccinated and handed over to us. Then about three weeks ago one of our adopters stumbled upon a dog lying by the side of Kesas Highway. The dog was dehydrated and suffered some internal injuries. The owner of a nearby workshop told the lady the dog had been knocked down at about 8.00am and it was almost 2.00pm when she saw the poor dog. No one, including the workshop owner, had even bothered to call for help. The lady rushed the dog to us and we admitted him to veterinary clinic. He died the same night. Then there is Jerry - he was crawling behind some houses in Taman Andalas, Klang. It is believed someone had hit him with a stick and injured his back - making him unable to walk. We admitted him to a veterinary clinic and he is still there and will be coming to our half-way-home soon. He still can't walk. Then there was the Terrier cross that was mowed down near PJ Hilton. No one bothered to help until a friend's sister and her husband spotted the dog. We rushed her to a veterinary hospital and she survived for over two weeks but died all of a sudden. She was wearing a collar - how did she get there? The vet says she had extensive internal injuries. The worst case is the puppy we rescued in Kapar. Someone living in the area had witnessed the puppy being kicked - he called us - we went to the scene immediately and rushed the puppy to a veterinary hospital. The puppy never regained consciousness and died a week later. How can you expect animals to be treated well by lay people when government bodies such as local councils condone and practice cruelty towards dogs?

Jerry was beaten up in Klang. His back is hurt and he still can't walk. He will be going of to MDDB's half way home soon.
These boys are crazy? Its not animal cruelty. But I am not surprised if they turn out to be crazy serial killers. Do you know them? They must be caught and due punishment meted out.

Nike 10 10 10

Hehehe...I am back at it. Gonna attempt the Nike 5km run. Yes only the 5 km after years of being a white lazy elephant. I'm doing both the virtual and actual street run with a bunch of pals Gladys, Lilian, Jo, Charlie Chia and hopefully Jaclyn and Eric .

Strangely, I am the participant. But dad and hubby are more excited than I am. I am nevertheless excited and am planning my workout and diet (diet as per Dad's advise when Dad used to coach me for my runs during school days).

So far I've done Gasing Hill on Saturday wit the good and encouraging company of Charlie and Yogaretnam both of whom are seasoned participants. And today we did Bukit Kiara. I have to apologise to these 2 bros and also sista Jo for my ability to walk for now. But I will be running by the next Saturday:D I promise.

And for tomorrow, I'll be hitting the pool. Not that I can swim but I have my buoy from my artery clogging makan trip from Pulau Ketam. So I could always attempt some "swim" in the pool. Or if I can wake up on time, to hit the gym.

As for food, ever since I started working out, I have been craving carbo. So yes I have been eating a lil more carbo than usual. Its something new since I have never been a carbo lover. And Dad is so excited, he's calling to ensure I am eating right and training right. Well eating right...I am. Training right... I supposed I did better when Dad and coach were training me in high school in the mornings and evenings.

But I will strive to complete the race. I have pals who are pledging moolah for every km that I complete for Hope Malaysia and MDDB. It might not be much but its a little to go towards the rescues that MDDB has been doing. And the Hope KL's efforts in assisting the children and orphans.

So wish me luck folks:D I'll putting up pledge details over the week.

Meanwhile, I'm going to finish my Guinness while watching Manchester United vs Liverpool and head home to sleep.

We took this picture of Shalom in our home after we shot our wedding anniversary pictures some time back in Covershots Studio. She was only 3 years old then and still sporting the short puppy look then. These days, you see with her long sweep the floor look:D
It makes her look like a girl but its nevertheless "hard work" of having to groom her daily. But I reckon when i look at the photos, its worth it. Shih tzus should have long hair like the following:

But they all look like a lot more work on my end. And I reckon that my diva Shalom can't have all the fun she wants in jungle trekking etc. So, we'll just stick to this:

But seriously, after all she's gone through as a puppy, short hair, long hair, puppy cut, teddy bear look, I really don;t care. I love her for all her traits. Even if she messes up the house daily - she gives scatter cushions the literal meaning by taking them from the couch and scattering them all over the house. Or littering the whole house with crumbs from her food, I still love her. Look at those mata kesian emo look:P
Never mind her character was never ever closed to Colby / Colburst a west highland terrier who's such a perfect gentleman. Colby passed away a year after Crackers. This was a perfect boy. Easy to handle, obedient and yes he has learnt never to pee on tyres, pillars, gates and dustbins.
Would I still love her if she is a mongrel? Of course I would. Meet Crackers:

this grand dame lived till 15 and despite having epileptic fits. Thanx to the kind doctors who gave her a second chance for 4 years unlike the private ones who said "put her down"

and Geri:

Geri was adopted from SPCA. She came to us looking dark brown like chocolate and somehow grew to be beige in colour within her 1st year of being with us. She is not without health worries - she has fluid in her lungs and her liver is weak from the medication) but the kind folks in UPM also extended her lease of life and is still with us today at 8 years old.

And Mini:

Mini left us barely a year we adopted her from the Setapak pound at the helm when the expose on TV3 came about that the pound people were drowning cats and breaking the necks of the stray dogs. She contracted Parvo. Again we never gave up. Malaysian Dogs Deserved Better (MDDB) helped us all the way and encouraged and supported us to ensure she had the bext while she stayed with us. She went on with Inmune Boosters and lived like any other dogs until she passed away. This yound lady was a fighter as much as we were. She would try to stand and walk as much even though her body was failing her. But I am gald we did not leave her in the pound. We gave her all the love she wanted.

Pedigree or otherwise, love the kids. They love us unconditionally and so should we!
