Energizer Listens in the Aftermath of Energizer Night Race 2011

The following letter was sent to the Administrators and members of the 3 groups formed by the participants of the recent Energizer Night Race 2011:

Dear Administrator,

First and foremost, I would like to repeat how deeply sorry we are for the experience you and other participants had during the Energizer Night Race 2011.

Since the race, we have been working around the clock to ensure a full understanding of what happened and why. While we worked with a party whom we trusted to execute the race in a right and responsible manner, it was ultimately our responsibility to ensure it was the inspiring and exciting event we intended for it to be.

If immediate answers were not forthcoming after the event, please understand that we wanted to get the clearest understanding of the event’s shortcomings from all parties involved first. No doubt you are aware of our previous statements, which came as a result of our internal investigations. We are shocked and embarrassed by the events that occurred, and truly regret any anxiety, frustration or discomfort that you or others experienced.

Since the event, what I personally appreciate is the amount of constructive criticism from so many runners who have offered great ideas on how we at Energizer Malaysia can continue to support their passion for running. I have personally received numerous suggestions, questions and disputes over the past two weeks, and would like to address these in an open and honest manner.

In the spirit of good faith, I would like to have a short run with you on Saturday the 7th of May at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. I would love to take this opportunity to listen to your comments, suggestions and feedback you have collectively gathered from your fellow participants in the race, in the hope that we can do much better for future events.

For the ease of discussion, please only appoint up to two other representatives from this Facebook page to join us at the run if you wish. Members on the Boycott Energizer Night Race Facebook page are more than welcome to join our run, but please understand if I can only accommodate personal sessions with you and your appointed representatives.

I would love to hear back from you soon so I can send you a personal invitation.

Kindest regards,

Mike Foong,

Managing Director of Energizer Malaysia

See you on Saturday!

Kindest regards,

Mike Foong,

Managing Director of Energizer Malaysia

So folks, if you're keen to join, you're most welcomed to do so. However, please take note that in case you can't get your personal session with Mr. Mike Foong because of the number of people etc, please don't hold it against that man nor Energizer Malaysia. It is good and brave of them to even come out to organise this informal gathering.
